Importance of Exercise for Mental Health: Diet Culture & Intuitive Moving

Adults · Learning
Often in the fitness industry and as an audience member oF the fitness industry, we hear messaging revolved around external results-driven exercise.

"Check out our class to see 'real results'"
"Have you seen these before and after photos of our method?"

305 Fitness founder and CEO, Sadie Kurzban, had had enough. She curated a business where people can ditch the diet culture and find ownership over and connection to their bodies through dance and movement. In an industry that so often capitalizes on insecurities and shame, Kurzban chose to capitalize on self-acceptance and joy. In this session, she will talk about the history of diet culture, where we stand today as a society, and where we can go. She will move into using exercise as a form of release for mental health instead of a pressure-filled results-driven activity. Kurzban will walk through the mental health benefits of regular movement.
