Intro to Drawing

This class is recommended for kids ages 7-12. With every class, Myx will draw something different every day, drawing inspiration often from animals, plant life, fantasy, holidays, and ideas submitted by you!

Concepts we learn are basic color theory, coloring techniques, and styles. At the end of each class we do a small show and tell where we aim to spotlight drawings done during that day. If students come early they may be able to show drawings done at other times as well. It is encouraged to come prepared with a drawing sketchbook or a folder to keep drawings in.

Drawing materials such as markers, crayons, color pencil, or oil pastel are recommended as well! The instructor, Myx, uses Blick studio markers but recommends students use pencil and eraser instead of marker if they are inexperienced drawers.

Myx Lee
Myx is a sculptor born and raised in New York City. She is finishing a BFA in Sculpture from SUNY Purchase. Clay, Wire, and Plaster are among the materials they love working in. Myx specializes in creating figurative forms in clay, welding, making jewelry, claymation, and performance art. Myx also enjoys playing Pokemon and Animal Crossing on their Nintendo Switch!
