Behind the Mask: The Invisible ADHD Experience

Adults · Learning
Many adults with ADHD spend years appearing successful, responsible, organized, or “fine” on the outside while privately struggling with overwhelm, emotional exhaustion, shame, anxiety, and the constant pressure to keep up. Often misunderstood or overlooked, ADHD impacts far more than attention and focus. It can affect emotional regulation, relationships, self worth, productivity, motivation, and everyday functioning.

This class explores the invisible emotional experience of ADHD, especially in adults who have learned to mask their struggles through overcompensating, perfectionism, people pleasing, or pushing themselves into burnout. Together, we will unpack the realities of executive dysfunction, emotional overwhelm, masking, rejection sensitivity, and nervous system exhaustion while gaining a deeper understanding of how ADHD shows up beneath the surface.
