Maximizing Your Child's Potential Through A Growth Mindset

Adults · Learning
For most children, receiving a poor grade on a test or failing to make the cut for a sports team is devastating—and it can lead to self-imposed labels and limitations that impact their future development. COVID-19 has created another obstacle for students as they navigate a particularly challenging distance learning year. However, with the right approach, their next poor grade on a test or struggle they encounter can be the positive spark that drives them forward, rather than dragging them further into academic anxiety. Based on more than 30 years of research from Stanford University, students (and parents!) who develop a Growth Mindset can advance their skills and development more than they think they can, within school, work, and the rest of their lives.
During this presentation, you will discover:
  • Through effort, anyone can improve at anything
  • Failure and challenge are catalysts for growth and development
  • Your child’s academic potential isn’t defined by their past results or innate ability
  • How to help your child change their attitude towards difficult things
