Glenn Gaffney
Mr. Gaffney currently serves as an Executive Vice President at In-Q-Tel - a strategic venture firm formed in 1996 to bridge the gap between the venture capital community, the technical startup community, and the US government.
Prior to joining IQT, Mr. Gaffney served the US Intelligence Community for over thirty years leading analysts, operators and technologists to solve some of our nation's most pressing intelligence challenges. He began his career at CIA as a technical analyst studying the Soviet space program. Building on early experiences he spent the next decade developing interagency and clandestine technical collection operations to address critical intelligence gaps.
Mr. Gaffney was an early adopter and pioneer of CIA and National level efforts to develop cyber capabilities and programs. During this time, he served as the CIA’s Chief of Computer Operations and then Chief of the CIA's Information Operations Center.
His years as an executive leader in the US Intelligence Community included two years as the Deputy Director of National Intelligence for Collection, six years as the Director of Science and Technology for the CIA, and two years as the Associate Director of the CIA for Talent.
